CCUN-ITC-CAMREN Campus Network Design & Network Management Workshop
Dates: June – December, 2023 Location: Heng Samrin Tboung Khmum Host: University of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum Venue: UHST Three day hands-on technical workshop focused on Campus Network Design and Network Management In the name of the CCUN, ITC of CAMREN will also be conducting the Campus Network Design, Monitoring & Troubleshooting tutorial after the 4 times hands-on workshops if needed. Participants from the Campus Network Design program are welcome to participate in the future network monitoring tutorial provide by CCUN, ITC, RUPP, RUA, SRU, NUBB, or HUST. Workshop Goals- Train network engineering staff from six universities membered and research institutes in Cambodia on how to design and build scalable, sustainable their campus networks
- Learn to design and build structured cabling systems, including real practice.
- Learn current best practices in designing and building hierarchical networks using layer 2 switches and layer 3 routers, including where to route and where to switch in campus networks
- Learn how to use open source software to monitor availability and performance in managing campus networks
- Strengthen the human network of the research and education community in developing internal and national cyberinfrastructure
- Some Linux/UNIX experience
- Some knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and layer 2 and layer 3 network basics
- SSH SecureShell Client for Windows
- PuTTY for Windows (SSH)
- Linux/UNIX and Mac OS already have SSH installed. DO NOT USE PUTTY FOR LINUX OR MAC!
